The Dreher football program is looking for a DB Coach. He must know how to coach and motivate a group of men. Be a very positive influence and implement mental and physical toughness. Coach must also be able to break down offensive film, understand route running, and have a good skill set in teaching DB techniques. The DB coach will also be the defensive passing game coordinator which is inputting passing information into Hudl, drawing up passing game cards for practice, and assist in putting in special passing game packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching basketball, with a focus on developing young athletes both on and off the court. This position requires someone who can inspire, motivate, and instruct our student-athletes to achieve their full potential while fostering a culture of academic excellence, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions to develop the team’s skills and strategy.
• Evaluate athletes’ skills and assign team positions.
• Monitor and mentor student-athletes’ academic progress.
• Enforce discipline both on and off the court and model sportsmanship in all aspects of the role.
• Communicate effectively with parents, coaching staff, school staff, and students.
• Coordinate with the Varsity Basketball Coach to ensure program continuity and athlete development.
• Manage and maintain basketball equipment and uniforms.
• Participate in coaching clinics, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a basketball coach or assistant coach at the middle school level or higher.
• Strong understanding of basketball rules, strategies, and training techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor young athletes.
• Commitment to academic excellence and personal growth of student-athletes.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR (can be obtained after job has been accepted)
• A clear background check.
• Willingness to obtain CDL certification
